Zombie Dice Review

Zombie Dice Box

Zo-om-bie, Zo-om-bie, Zo-om-bie, -ie, -ie…

Zombie Dice gives you the opportunity to be a zombie, without needing to get bitten by one!

As a zombie you can throw Maslow’s whole needy hierarchy out the window and focus on just two simple aims:

1. Eat brains.

2. Don’t get shotgunned!

Braaiiiiiiiins?

That’s right my shambling friend. The winner of the game is the first to consume (roll) 13 delicious brains.

Each of the differently coloured zombie dice (green, yellow or red) offers you a chance of chowing down on some brains. Unfortunately, they also offer the chance of getting your own brains blown out…

As any good traffic light colour-scheme suggests:

Green is as good as a “go-ahead”,

Red brings you to pause and you might end up dead.

Life was always hard; why should undeath be any different?

Calling Shotgun?

Each turn you’ll roll three of the zombie dice, picked blind from the dice-shaker (which handily doubles as a convenient carry-case for the game).

Your turn ends immediately if three of those dice show shotgun blasts and …if your turn ends this way, you’ll also lose any brains you’ve ‘harvested’ and score zero for this turn.

If you’re not dead already (yes, I know – technically you’re right, but shhh) you can continue rolling for as long as your head’s on your shoulders.

Set aside any brains or shotguns from your previous roll and retain any footprints (runners) if your feeding frenzy is continuing. Draw as many extra dice as needed until you’ve three in your hand again, then long may your rolling continue…

Grey Matter?

While there is something cerebral about Zombie Dice, this isn’t a game which’ll put great strains on your intellect. If you’re after a quick warm-up game that won’t tax anyone around you too heavily, you might find it’s a real blast.

If, however, you want a game that you’ll return to time and time again, you might find its appeal a little short-lived (like a survivor hiding a bite).

For snack-sized gaming, Zombie Dice could be just what you’re hungry for: it accommodates higher player counts, won’t break the bank and offers straightforward fun at a fast pace.
