Like the 2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin, the 2020 Tin of Lost Memories is based on an important item from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Here, it’s the Tablet of Lost Memories, a relic from the Battle City arc that would help Yami Yugi find the past he had forgotten.
What's including in Yu-Gi-Oh! 2020 Tin of Lost Memories?
Inside the tin are three Tin of Lost Memories Mega Packs, each containing 18 cards (for a total of 54). Of the cards available, most come from previous Sets, though not every card in each Set is here. These Sets are:
Tin of Lost Memories also includes the following never-before-seen Ultra Rare cards:
· Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon
· Successor Soul
· Strength in Unity
· Destined Rivals
In total, Tin of Lost Memories features 249 cards. There are:
· 27 Prismatic Secret Rares – One in every pack (3.7% chance per card)
· 50 Ultra Rares – Two in every pack (4% chance per card)
· 37 Super Rares – Two in every pack (5.4% chance per card)

Although most of the cards come from other Sets, there have been many changes in rarity to give you the best value.
Plenty of Secret Rares from other Sets (previously one in every 23 Booster Packs) have been lowered to Ultra Rare (here, two in every Mega Pack). This gives you a much higher chance of getting powerful cards you might have missed before.
Similarly, many cards that were Common in other Sets are now Super Rare. This means you could get a nicer version of a card, but it gives you a lower chance of doing so in case you already own several copies.
By changing the rarities like this, you’re more likely to get cards you missed from older Sets, and less likely to get repeats of cards you own.
How Can You Use Your Cards?
Tin of Lost Memories is a great place to find the basic cards for some popular archetypes. If you’re making a Salamangreat deck, you’ll find all Salamangreat cards from the four featured Sets here in one place. The same is true for Dinowrestler, Marincess, Tenyi and more. This makes the tin excellent value for money when searching for core archetype cards.
If you don’t have a specific archetype in mind, you can use many of the cards on offer in various decks. From the cards I got, Guardragon Justicia is great for Dragon decks, Hyper Psychic Riser can disrupt an opponent, and The Return to the Normal is a useful board clearer. I was even lucky enough to find Pot of Extravagance, a card that’s been appearing in tournament-topping decks of all kinds! Even if you just want to give your favourite deck a power boost, there are lots of useful cards here for you to try.
For players interested in the Yu-Gi-Oh! meta, reprints of popular cards like Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess and I:P Masquerena are must-haves. The reduced rarities also mean casual players can grab awesome cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime, like Playmaker’s Firewall eXceed Dragon or Revolver’s Borreload Savage Dragon. No matter how you like to play, there’s something in Tin of Lost Memories that you’re going to love.

Is Yu-Gi-Oh! 2020 Tin of Lost Memories Worth Getting?
The tin’s contents are high-value and low-cost. It’s cheaper than getting the featured Booster Packs individually, and it makes finding rare, powerful and valuable cards easier. Since many of the less impressive cards in the featured Sets were cut, you’re more likely to find cards you want. For new players, getting the tin with a Structure Deck like Dinosmasher’s Fury or Mechanized Madness is a fantastic way to start your new hobby.
As a bonus, the tin itself is great to have. It’s not just a box for the Mega Packs, but a useful storage item and a beautiful collectable piece. Once emptied, it can fit in over 400 cards (or over 200 sleeved cards).
Whether you’re giving it as a gift or getting it for yourself, Yu-Gi-Oh! 2020 Tin of Lost Memories is an excellent addition to any duellist’s collection.
Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon
As one of the World Premiere cards included in Tin of Lost Memories, I can’t not mention Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon. This awesome Fusion Monster is a callback to Yugi’s Dark Magician and Joey’s Red-Eyes Black Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
Your opponent can’t destroy Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon with card effects, and it’s able to destroy monsters, inflict effect damage, negate card effects AND raise its Attack Points. While its Fusion Materials – Dark Magician and Red-Eyes Black Dragon – rarely appear in the same deck, a deck built to support these cards would be great fun to play. Dark Magician players can also summon Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon easily by using The Eye of Timaeus.
