WHO IS UWE ROSENBERG?

Uwe Rosenberg is a household name within the board game industry. He is a German designer and co-founder of Lookout Games. Rosenberg began creating play-by-mail games during his school years and had his first major game published by Amigo whilst he was at college.

This game was Bohnanza, a set collection, hand management card game about trading and planting beans. 10 years later, Rosenberg created Agricola - the first of many worker placement strategy games created by the German. Agricola would knock Puerto Rico off the top of the BGG Top 100 in September 2008, and stayed there until March 2010.

Agricola also won the prestigious Spiel dea Jahres Award for the Best Complex Game in 2008.

WORKER PLACEMENT SPECIALIST

When the name Uwe Rosenberg is mentioned among gamers, the first thing that comes to mind is worker placement. His games tend to be complex strategy-based affairs, with an economic theme. Most of his games are also known to be good for solo gaming.

The heavier titles within the Uwe Rosenberg collection include the likes of Agricola, Le Havre and Caverna - all of which have spawned various expansions. A lighter game within the range is Nusfjord, where players take on the role of Vikings battling for supremacy.

Lighter still is the fun-filled game of Patchwork, a two-player competitive game where players try to create the most complete patchwork quilt.
