While everyone is busy carving pumpkins and preparing decoration for Halloween, Ravensburger is cooking a long list of amazing initiatives for all the fans of Disney Lorcana and they just disclosed a few new ones that will make everyone living and playing in UK quite happy.
The fun started in the second half of October with a series of demonstration events held at four different locations in UK to provide an opportunity for everyone to find out more about Disney Lorcana. The events, lasting for two days at each location offers the opportunity to new players to play a demo of the game and to find out more about what makes this game so interesting. In addition, each people stopping by and making a purchase will get one promo card. It seems “Sven, Reindeer Keeper” will be available but there is a chance others may be available including “Scrooge McDuck, Uncle Moneybags”. This last one was the promo card released as part of set 3 therefore it will be quite amazing having another opportunity to get a copy of this card. If interested, there will be two more opportunities for you to get involved: on the 30th and 31st of October at the Festival Place in Basingstoke, and on the 2nd and 3rd of November at The Glade in Bromley.
Together with this new great initiative to bring Disney Lorcana to more players, Ravensburger and Fanfinity are continuing their efforts to provide all players with new and engaging opportunities to meet and play the game. Among the latest interesting ideas, those attending the MCM Comic Con in London had the chance to try to complete a set of “Fun Challenges” to earn a price. Players were seating at a table with one to three other players and they were allowed to play for half an hour using either their own deck or a Starter Deck lent by the organizers. During the game, Players could earn stamps for completing small tasks like “Quest for 3 lore in a turn” or “Sing a song card” and every time they did they could call a judge to ratify their success. Once the time of the event was up, players with at least 2 challenges completed got a prize of their choice. During the comic-con the selection included a 1-year anniversary pin and a super rare First Chapter Booster pack!!!!
This initiative was clearly designed for players with experience, that are not interested in a Demonstration game or to play the Illumineer Quest and it offered the opportunity to play against other skilled players during the event to celebrate the game. I was among the very first people to participate it and I loved it!!
Fast forward a couple of weeks and the attention of all Lorcana fans will point to the release of the sixth set of the game, “Azurite Sea”. There are a lot of aspects that makes this set very interesting starting from a very weird Emerald card that is disrupting the numbering of the Amber cards. Together with showing up in the wrong Ink colour, this Character is also backing up sewers, reversing street signs, and stealing everyone’s left shoe. Yes, you guessed it right and the Character in question is none other than a new Emerald Stitch and its card number has to be “26” of set 6 making this cards really “Experiment 626”. I think this is a genius idea and I love how suited to Stitch this choice is.
The last of the great news for this month is the confirmation that Ravensburger will release a new promo card to celebrate the movie Moana 2 at the end of November. In my opinion this was quite bound to happen in particular after we had a Disney Lorcana promo card included in the new Disney Villainous board game. However, I commend the effort of creating more and more opportunities to enjoy Lorcana while having fun with more traditional Disney events through the year. We already know that Disney Parks will soon start having the new Lorcana quests and I cannot wait to see more and more initiatives in the future. For example, Christmas is coming up and I hope there will be more surprises waiting for us under the Christmas tree!
