Growth In Numbers
The Sylvaneth warscroll cardss are the perfect companion for any budding Age of Sigmar player. These cards allow you to harness all of the information you need for your army roster at your fingertips without the need to carry around the weighty battletome to every battle you’re part of.
Packed full of all the recent updates and changes to the Sylvaneth faction; the battle cards make a great alternative for the battletome. Additionally, once you’ve familiarized yourself with the faction traits for Sylvaneth, these cards are the only rule reference sheets you need.
I find these cards really useful to have around when I’m building my rosters for tournaments.
They present all the information you need in a concise form without missing any important details. They’re also very thin and fit perfectly in any storage case that you might be taking.
Nature Blossoms
Inside this beautifully adorned box, you’ll find the following components:
- 16 Unit Warscroll Cards
- 3 Endless Spell Warscroll cards
- 28 Sylvaneth Tokens
The quality of the game components are very high quality, and the tokens are made from a thick cardboard stock. The actual cards are beautifully made, flourished with art and display the stats in an easy to read font.
Unfortunately, once the box has been opened, it doesn’t store the components very well. They sit loosely in the box and are not held in place. This means that over time, the sides of the cards will become damaged and may fall out of the box if not stored upright. My solution is to store the cards for each unit in the boxes they’re stored in. If I have a roster for a competition, I will keep all the models for that game in the same box, and store the unit cards with them.
I know it goes without saying, but one of the most prominent downfalls of these cards is that they won’t contain any of the future eratas and updates that Games Workshop will release for the faction. Therefore, these cards have a limited lifespan up to the point where units are nerfed or spell effects are changed. On the other hand, though, the cards have plenty of space under the current starts for you to add notes and updates in pen. And although I don’t enjoy writing on these cards, it’s the only way to keep them up to date with any changes.
New Life To Sylvaneth
With the new Sylvaneth faction update, comes many changes to how they work. Wyldwoods have new buffs, the Hamadreth hits harder than ever before, and the endless spells are still a force to be reckoned with.
I also can’t express how beautiful the images on the cards are. The painters at Games Workshop have done an amazing job at showcasing the characteristics of each hero, bringing these units to life. The bold font and familiar images make it incredibly easy to locate each card you need for your roster.
As good as these cards are, they don’t contain information for any of the rulings, traits or faction buffs that you need to know when playing Sylvaneth. All of those can only be found in the rulebook, so it’s worthwhile picking one of them up in addition to these cards. That way, no information is lost, and you can have the faction information open in the rulebook while you use the cards for the individual unit data.
Final Thoughts
The Sylvaneth Warscroll Cards are a must have when bringing your Sylvaneth army into the updated world of Age of Sigmar. They sit perfectly on the edge of the gaming table, stay open when you fold them out, and make it incredibly easy to find the information you need in an instant.
I must admit, I would prefer a couple of extra cards with some of the faction traits and rulings to be included in this set, but that would limit the need for players to buy the battletome in addition to the cards. Nonetheless, a quick reference guide would add heaps of value to these cards.
I really recommend picking up a pack of these warscroll cards, whether it’s for a sylvaneth army or a different faction. They are useful, easy to store and serve as the perfect reference material.
