STONEMAIER GAMES HISTORY

Stonemaier Games was co-founded by Jamey Stegmaier and Alan Stone in 2012. The company launched all of their games, up until Charterstone, on the crowdfunding website known as Kickstarter. In total, their Kickstarter projects have raised over $3.2 million. Stegmaier is a very active member of the board game community, sharing his kickstarter and design advice with others. He released a crowdfunding strategy guide to help others get into the industry. Following the success of Viticulture, Euphoria and Between Two Cities, Stonemaier Games released the highly-anticipated Scythe. This huge game raised over $1.8 million on Kickstarter, with well over 17,000 backers. The game won five Golden Geek Awards in 2016, including Board Game of the Year.

STONEMAIER GAMES FRANCHISE

Stonemaier Games have published some of our best-selling board games here at Zatu Games. Their story began with Viticulture in 2013, a game which placed gamers in charge of vineyards in Tuscany. Next came Euphoria, which gave you the change to "build a better dystopia." This worker placement game allowed you to lead a team of workers as you aim to build the best city. In 2015 we were treated to Between Two Cities, which was designed by designers outside of the company - Ben Rosset and Matthew O'Malley. In this game we get to design and build out own cities. Next came the award-winning, best selling game of Scythe. This has been followed by three expansions and legions of fans. 2017 saw the release of Charterstone, a legacy game which went straight to retail.

SCYTHE

Scythe is a 4X board game set in an alternate-history 1920s period. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. In Scythe, each player represents a character from one of five factions of Eastern Europa who are attempting to earn their fortune and claim their faction's stake in the land around the mysterious Factory.

CHARTERSTONE

In Charterstone, a competitive legacy game scaled for 1-6 players, you construct buildings and inhabit a shared village. Building stickers are removed from cards and permanently added to your charter on the board, becoming action spaces for any player to use. Thus, a few available buildings soon grow into a bustling village with dozens of actions.

VITICULTURE

In the game of Viticulture, the players find themselves in the roles of people in rustic, pre-modern Tuscany who have inherited meager vineyards. They have a few plots of land, an old crushpad, a tiny cellar, and three workers. They each have a dream of being the first to call their winery a true success. Every season is different on a vineyard.

BETWEEN TWO CASTLES

Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig is a competitive tile-drafting game in which each tile is a room in a castle. You work together with the player on your left to design one castle, and with the player on your right on another castle. . On each turn you select two tiles from your hand, reveal them, then work with your partners to place them.

EUPHORIA

You will generate commodities, dig tunnels to infiltrate opposing areas, construct markets, collect artefacts, strengthen allegiances, and fulfil secret agendas. What are you willing to sacrifice to build a better dystopia?

BETWEEN TWO CITIES

In Between Two Cities, it is the early 1800s, a time of immense construction and urbanisation. You are a world-renowned master city planner who has been asked to redesign two different cities. Projects of such significance require the expertise of more than one person, so for each assignment you are paired with a partner with whom to execute your plans.

MY LITTLE SCYTHE

My Little Scythe is a competitive, family-friendly game in which each player controls 2 young Seekers embarking upon an adventure in the Kingdom of Pomme. Each Seeker pair are two animal siblings from the 7 animal kingdoms that surround Pomme, participating in the Harvest Tournament to become crowned the new rulers of Pomme.

INVADERS FROM AFAR

While empires rise and fall in Eastern Europa, the rest of the world takes notice. Two distant factions, Albion and Togawa, send emissaries to scout the land and employ their own distinct styles of conquering. Scythe: Invaders from Afar, an expansion for successful Scythe board game, adds the following aspects to this intriguing world:

THE WIND GAMBIT

Scythe: The Wind Gambit, an expansion for Scythe, adds two new modules that can be played together or separately at any player count and with either the base game on its own or with other Scythe expansions (such as Invaders From Afar). This game introduces airships (one miniature per faction; 16 tiles) and resolutions (eight tiles) to the game.
