Rivet Wars Will Be Back

Rivet Wars

Today is a great day for all fans of good strategic games as we could all celebrate the come back of Rivet Wars.

A lot of old players like me can for sure remember this title from 2014. For those who don't, Rivet Wars is a tactical miniatures game where each player controls an army representing one of two opposing factions. The game is set in a dark Diesel-punk inspired world that never left World War I but where walking tanks are common. Ted Terranova, the developer of the game, brought into this project his experience working on Real Time Strategy video games and the result was a great game full of dark humor and great strategic opportunities.

Rivet Wars and its expansions have been out of print for many years now and very hard to find on the market. This is hopefully going to change soon as, at the end of June, the UK publisher Steamforged Games acquired the IP for the game. Yes, they are the same publisher that recently completed a crowdfunding for RuneScape Kingdoms and that is planning to bring back Euthia, another greatly awaited game.

In a press release announcing the deal, Terranova wrote, "I am elated that Rivet Wars has a new future with Steamforged Games. I'm an admirer of their creativity and ethos as well as their reliability, credibility and consistency within the industry. Rivet Wars was always a passion project, so it gives me huge satisfaction to know it's in safe hands. I can't wait to see where they take the game next."
