Collection of works from the 1960s directed by William Castle. In 'Zotz' (1962) Professor Jonathan Jones (Tom Poston) comes across an amulet that has magical powers and is then pursued by government agents who vie for what would be a most advantageous military weapon. Jones also uses his newly obtained magic to try and stir the affections of his new colleague as well as gain promotion as head of his department. In '13 Frightened Girls' (1963), at a school for diplomats' daughters one girl becomes privy to espionage activities. As her involvement in the scheming intensifies her safety is severely threatened and this also compromises the well-being of the other girls. In 'The Old Dark House' (1963) Joan Crawford stars as Lucy Harbin, a woman who has spent 20 years in a psychiatric hospital after the axe-murder of her husband and his mistress. Her daughter is due to be married but there are tensions between the two families. When a number of vicious axe-murders are committed Lucy's past means she is suspected of having once again lost her sanity. Finally, in 'Strait-Jacket' (1964) Tom Penderel (Poston) is an American car salesman on business in England. When he receives an invite to visit an old friend at his family's dilapidated mansion in Dartmoor he turns up only to find out that his former roommate has died. Adverse weather means Tom must spend the night with the deceased's outlandish family and he encounters an unusual night full of terror.
