Triple collection of war dramas set during WWII. In 'The Butcher of Prague' (2011) Frantisek Sima (Karel Roden) is sent to prison after accidentally killing his son during a drunken argument. While he is in jail, high ranking Nazi officer Reinhard Heydrich (Detlef Bothe) is assassinated by two soldiers belonging to the Czech resistance and in retaliation the Nazis make an example of the small village of Lidice by killing over 300 men, women and children. Sima believes that his family and loved ones have not been in contact because of their refusal to forgive him but in time he comes to discover the truth behind their silence. In '1941' (2007) Doctor Artur Planck (Joseph Fiennes) and his family go on the run when the Nazis begin targeting Polish Jews. They find refuge at the farm of Emilia (Kelly Harrison), a woman who lives alone after her husband left to fight on the frontline. As Artur and Emilia's friendship develops into an affair, Artur must face the consequences of his infidelity and the impact this may have on his own safety as well as that of his family. Finally, in 'Normandy - The Last Rescue' (2014) a small band of Allied forces, led by Captain Beckett (Brett Cullen), are caught behind enemy lines in northern France after a battle between American and German troops. As they are escorted to a POW camp they manage to ambush their captors and take German officer Dittrich (Tino Struckmann) hostage. But with Captain Beckett wounded and deep behind enemy lines they face a gruelling journey to evade the German soldiers and make it to safety.
