Description

Based on the traditional and popular game of "Goita", Tiger & Dragon is a tile game designed in a modern, easy-to-handle style, which you can play "1000 times".

The game contains 38 tiles: 36 numbered tiles with one 1, two 2s, etc. up to eight 8s, plus a tiger and a dragon. Shuffle the tiles face down, then each player takes tiles according to the number of players, with the player starting the game taking an extra tile. With four players, for example, the starting player draws ten tiles and all other players nine. At least one tile remains out of play.

The starting player attacks by playing a tile from his hand. The next player can either pass or defend the attack by playing the same tile. Note that the dragon defends against any odd tile, and the tiger against any even tile. After defending, place one of your own tiles to attack. If a player passes, the next player either passes or defends. If all other players pass on your attack, place a tile from your hand face-down, then choose a new tile to attack again. If you attack with the dragon or tiger, a player can defend with any even or odd tile, respectively.

The first player to empty his hand wins the round and scores points according to the last tile he played and the scorecard specific to that round. He scores 1 bonus point each time one of his attacks is not defended. At the end of a round, if a player has scored more than 10 points, he wins.

Tiger & Dragon is based on the popular traditional Japanese game GOITA, and can be played with team rules. Teammates sit opposite each other, and the first team to collectively score more than 15 points wins.
