Description
Randomise, by Gamely Games, is a light-hearted, family friendly, party card game. It is, at its core, a mash up of three family favourites: Charades, Pictionary and Taboo. With a minimum of four players, but ideally many more, Randomise pits two teams against each other to win points as they take it in turns to act out, draw or describe what is on the cards. All of this is made more difficult as teams are up against the clock.
At the start of the round, the nominated player picks three cards one from pile A, B and C. The team provides three random numbers, between one and three, and this decides which specific word or phrase is chosen from each card. The player first states their choice from two levels of difficulty, with the harder level offering a better points score and then decides whether to act out their challenge for 90 seconds, draw for 60 seconds or describe for 30 seconds. The players team must guess correctly within the time limit and score points for each correct part of the phrase they shout out.
This all sounds straightforward, but here is where the real beauty of Randomise is unlocked. Each of the three cards are different: A cards provide an adjective, B cards provide the noun and C cards provide the verb. The resulting random combinations make working out what on earth is going on far more difficult, but ultimately, much more fun. Trying to work out that grandma is acting out an angry tortoise flying a kite or decipher that great uncle Tom's drawing is in fact a scared jellyfish riding a unicycle makes Randomise a go-to-game for family get-togethers. Be careful though, if your team is unable to guess what is being played out on the Randomise stage, the opposing team can steal the points if they can provide the correct random statement.
With 110 cards each with six possible options on, there are more than a million random statements that can be put together this ensures replay-ability is high. At the find of the game, scores are tallied and the winner is the team with the highest score after an agreed number of rounds or the first team to amass an agreed total.
Randomise is packed to the rafters with silliness and games are fun filled, family friendly, easy to understand and will provide so many great memories. Randomise plays best with two good sized teams and is very accessible to children.
