Description
Memoir '44 is a war game, designed to commemorate the efforts of the men and women who fought in the Second World War. The game makes use of the Commands & Colors (C&C) game system designed by Richard Borg.
The system is recognisable for utilising battle dice and a shared deck of command cards. The battle dice enable combat to be resolved efficiently. The command cards form the game engine, driving movement and providing orders for Units. They also serve to create a fog of war effect which add to the realism. Games utilising the C&C system also have a game board that is a hex grid. This grid is divided into three sections: Left flank, Centre, and Right flank.
The Mediterranean Theater pack provides players with eight new historical scenarios, that focus on British action in North Africa - From Operation Battleaxe at Halfaya pass, to the Seige of Tobruk, pariculary the drawn out engagement of the Battle of Gazala.
This expansion pack includes
- 42 British Infantry
- 24 Crusader tanks
- 6 25-pounder guns
- 3 Anti-tank weapons
- 44 double-sided terrain tiles, various markers, special unit badges and obstacles
A copy of the Memoir '44 base game is required in order to play with this expansion. Whilst not required, customers may also wish to consider the Winter/Desert map expansion for aesthetic purposes. Many of the scenarios in this expansion take place on arid battlegrounds, better represented by the Desert game board.
