The Calliope launchers were named after the barrel organs of the same name from US carnivals. They replaced the main armament on a M4 Sherman. Each Calliope rocket launcher system fired a bombardment of sixty 4.5” (114mm) rockets. Individually, these rockets may not cause much damage but barrages of multiples of 60 can cause massive devastation.
