The Lilo Gift set is one of the most interesting product released as part of the latest set of Disney Lorcana, “Archazia’s Island“. Interestingly, Ravensburger has always released a Gift set (or similar) product as part of each set since the very first set in August 2023. However, the Gift set has constantly evolved and changed to fit different needs and to really become a very unique type of product. For example, the initial version of the Gift Set released as part of the first two sets (The First Chapter and Rise of the Floodborn) mainly featured 2 Jumbo cards and a few Booster Packs, while the Stitch Collector Gift Set released at the end of 2024 included a special Foil Promo card and a card binder themed around our favourite Alien Character. In a few cases, the Gift set slot was taken by a different type of product like the D23 Collector Set in August 2024 and the Illumineer Quest – Deep Trouble.

The latest version of the Gift Set that just released is a very interesting one, and nothing like any of the previous type of Gift Sets. I personally loved it, hence I had to put down some thoughts on what you should consider before buying it.

Lilo Gift Set – Contents

The first important component of the new Lilo Gift set is a new alternate art of “Lilo, Escape Artist” from the sixth set, Azurite Sea. Lilo is a good Amber card that finds a solid spot in a few decks in competitive plays and the new artwork really makes this card pop. In addition, this new promo card received a Glittering finish that makes this alternative art Lilo a really good card to have for both collectors and players.

The artwork of the new promo card has been also used for the Gift set box, including the glittery finish. The box itself is quite sturdy and very well made and, once opened, can double as a card storage solution. To help with that, the Gift Set includes also three card spacers, two with the Amber Ink symbol and one with the Lilo alternative artwork. I quite like this nice addition as Ravensburger made them out of the cardboard support that holds the rest of the Gift set Components in place so there is less cardboard that is likely to go to waste.

Finally, Lilo Gift set comes with 5 Booster packs, however these are not from Archazia’s Island set. In fact, the gift set includes a random number of packs from set 2 to set 6 and not necessarily one pack per set. This is a pretty important point to understand as your Gift set can include any number of packs from any of the previous sets and there can be multiple packs from the same set. It seems a very common combination is to have 2 packs from Disney Lorcana Rise of the Floodborn, 2 packs from Into the Inklands and 1 pack from Ursula’s Return but I also saw a number of other combinations posted so far. Each Booster pack includes as usual 12 cards from their related set featuring 6 common, 3 uncommon, 2 Rare or Super Rare or Legendary and 1 foil card of random rarity. Obviously, any Pack will have a chance to include an enchanted.

Is Lilo Gift Set good for you?

Honestly, I was not much convinced about the value of the Gift Set initially. The Jumbo cards were nice to have but challenging to store properly in a standard binder and the few packs and the cardboard tokens included were not worth the price range of this product. I loved, however, the D100 and the D23 Collector Edition sets as they were unique and nicely designed to please Disney Lorcana collectors. The Illumineer’s Quest – Deep Trouble was also an amazing product for players and a great way to ease new players into the game before Lorcana Gateway was released.

Personally, I think Stitch Collector Gift set has been really the very first one I loved to get and where I felt I got a good value out of its price in particular due to the unique promo card and the Card Binder. The new Lilo Collector Gift set built on top of the positive aspects of the previous one by giving Collectors and beautiful Alternative Artwork card together with a nice storage solution for all your cards. The promo card alone is worth around £6 on the secondary market at the time of writing and the storage box is definitely a good product to have.

This means that you are paying less than £15 for the 5 booster packs included in the set while you would likely spend just over £20 to buy them separately. Unfortunately, you cannot choose which packs you get in the Gift set meaning you may not have a lot of value out of these packs. For example, you may find some packs from sets where you already have all the cards or that are less valuable in the current metagame. On the other hand, if you were not able to collect some early sets, the Lilo Gift set offers the opportunity to get some good cards for a slightly lower price.

If you are a player, you can also consider this Gift set as a great tool to either play Pack Rush challenge or Chaos Draft format. I briefly mentioned these two formats in a previous content and they are a great way to have fun playing Lorcana without a huge investment. In this case, you will just need to add one Booster Pack to the five you get with the Lilo Gift set to have three sets to play Pack Rush or a full one for a Chaos Draft tournament. Neat!

The Lilo and Stitch Gift Box is the additional product release that came alongside Lorcana’s new set Archazia’s Island’s. Previously this product has been the Lorcana Gateway and Ursula’s Revenge co-operative game, however this one rather includes a random selection of booster packs, a storage box and a promotional card.

Booster Pack Selection

The gift box contains five Lorcana booster packs with a choice of 5 different sets: Rise of the Floodborn, Into the Inklands, Ursula’s Return, Shimmering Skies and Azurite Sea. However, there is no guarantee that you will receive one of each. The collection has a random selection of the five, so you may miss out on getting one or two of the sets. The gift box I bought had two Rise of the Floodborn, one Into the Inklands, one Ursula’s Return and one Shimmering Skies; not a bad selection but I would have preferred more of the newer sets. You cannot see the selection you are getting so it is a nice surprise when you open the box, however if you do not need a particular Lorcana set, you may get an unwanted pack. Also, the lack of Archazia’s island packs being available is questionable, as it released on the same day and seems like a missed opportunity.

Promotional Card

Fittingly, the gift box comes with a promotional card: “Lilo – Escape Artist”. This promo has a spectacular new Amber border style and a shimmering holofoil to set it apart from other promo cards released alongside the new set and was the main reason for my purchase of the gift set. The card itself has seen some play in Amber-Amethyst, or Amber-Steel decks due to its ability to return from the discard pile to your play exerted at the start of your turn. Although you have to pay for it before drawing at the start of your turn, and it enters play exerted, it is a nuisance for your opponent to have to get rid of. It can also be readied by a character like “Sven – reindeer” ready to quest on your next turn and unable to be immediately challenged and banished again. So, if you haven’t managed to pull one from Azurite Sea, or love the new artwork of the card, this gift set is perfect to add it to your collection!

Storage Box

All of the products come contained in a Lilo-and-Stitch-designed storage box. The box is an Amber colour, much like the card, and has the card design of the promo card printed on top with glittery accents and a shiny reflection. It is sturdy and built much like the Illumineer’s trove and is of a high quality and durability. The box also contains three punch-out card dividers, with one featuring, you guessed it, Lilo and Stitch, and the other two having the Amber Lorcana symbol. However, they aren’t quite as strong or as high quality as the ones included in the Illumineer’s trove as they are cardboard rather than card.

Overall Thoughts

The Lilo and Stitch Gift Box is a great product for new Illumineer’s who want to open packs of previous sets, and receive a beautiful promo card of Disney favourite’s Lilo and Stitch. I think the storage box is great quality and perfect to store a collection of your Lorcana cards, or maybe just your Amber cards! And although there is none of the new set to open in the additional packs, I’m sure there is and will be a lot of products available of the new set to get your hands on so the random selection is a change of pace and a surprise! The RRP of £25 is a great price point as it is equivalent to the packs alone, so the promo card and storage box are essentially free! So, in my opinion this is definitely a product I would recommend picking up!
