Sharp-toothed and sharp clawed the (Red) Slaad can be a challenging opponent for some players. They come in various shapes, sizes, and colours. The red one is the one that lays the eggs. Known for its red skin and light blue patterns on its back.

Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures are known for their detailed sculpt and arriving already primed. While smaller miniatures of theirs can be flimsy, this particular mini has a nice shape and an open-handed stance. It’s almost inviting, which makes it just a little creepy when you remember what its particular skill is.

When I started painting this, I intended it to be as scary as I could possibly make it. As my DM was putting us up against Slaads, I wanted to finish it quickly and for it to be intimidating.

While it was an easy paint, no tiny spaces or difficult corners and curves. However, I failed in making it scary, as people have pointed out I have somehow made it adorable. The comments mostly being, “Look at its little face.”

Paints Used

This Red Slaad mini is about 3 inches high, with a cute smiley face and sharp claws and teeth. Very easy paint and a good addition to any Dungeon Masters Collection.
