Description
A visit to the University of Navarra-located in Pamplona, ??Spain-in search of a rare book-the chronicles of a monk who claimed to have witnessed visions of other worlds-leads to a grim investigation.
Forgotten Duty is a short investigation-probably 6 - 8 hours of play-written for Cthulhu Hack but playable with any system geared towards Lovecraftian horror. Set in modern-day northern Spain, the investigation has the potential to set the starting point for a wider campaign. It also links loosely into other earlier adventures, providing the potential to run into or from other investigations.
The adventure includes:
a 28-page adventure, including deep background, timeline, GM guidance, non-player character write-ups and maps of locations-to supplement uses of Internet-accessible maps for more general reference into the area in and around Pamplona
a page of tables for randomly generating authentic names for non-player characters, as well as mannerisms, personality traits, and quirks to make them memorable
a 3-page section of handouts, including non-player character portraits
the PDF is bookmarked and cross- linked
includes character art by mirandemia and a map by Patrick McGill
While you need the for Core Book to handle the baseline mechanics, you could use the investigation with any other system or run the whole thing as a story-driven encounter with unnameable cosmic horrors.
Publisher Note: This investigation is written for the 2nd Edition of Cthulhu Hack. While compatible with 1st Edition, there are some changes that will require additional work by the GM.
