You Might Like

  • That it can be played (and replayed) as a stand alone adventure, or it can be inserted into a campaign
  • The theme is a wonderful overlap of the Lovecraft mythos and classic sci-fi
  • It’s inexpensive (and small) compared to the full campaign boxes
  • Another opportunity to build unique decks for a specific challenge
  • AH:LCG offers a way to adjust the difficulty by tweaking the tokens in the Chaos Bag

Might Not Like

  • Unless you play Arkham LCG fairly regularly, you will inevitably spend a decent amount of time with your nose in the core set rule book looking up specific iconography or keywords
  • There may be some investigators for whom this scenario is either nye on impossible
  • If your AH:LCG collection is still small (say you only have the core box) you may struggle with an adventure like this
  • Deck building isn’t for everyone and it certainly isn’t much fun if you have spend hours doing it before actually getting to play the game

Description

Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a cooperative game for up to two players (or four, with two core sets). Set within the fictional world of H P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, players will each take on the role of an investigator. Each investigator is unique, with their own set of skills, strengths and weaknesses, represented a deck of cards.

The game is played by completing a number of adventures; individual scenarios that combine to form a campaign..As players progress through a campaign, and purchase new expansions, they will have the opportunity to customise their investigator decks. This will enable them to tweak the gameplay to their personal preferences, and better equip themselves against challenges thrown up by the game.

The Blob that Ate Everything is a self contained scenario, that can be played as a standalone campaign. It can also be inserted into another campaign, as side quest for your investigators.

There is trouble in Blackwater. The town has been placed in lockdown, following a meteor impact close by. Unbeknownst to the public, the meteor was not of natural origins. It contained an entity that is growing at an alarming rating, devouring everything in its path. Your investigators were part of a select group allowed to pass into the quarantined zone. If they want to leave again, they must first deal with the Blob.

This is an expansion. To play The Blob that Ate Everything, you will require a copy of Arkham Horror the Card Game.
