Here at Zatu, we love supporting local (and non-local) organisations, educational facilities and good causes. Recently, we've supported a range of primary schools to set up board game clubs, including Ardley Hill Academy. We've got a continuing partnership with several local libraries including Suffolk Library and more recently, we've helped out Preston's Gamers Guild by donating a prize for their recent event, where the proceeds go to two great charities: Mind Mental Health and Rosemere Cancer Foundation!
Preston's Gamers Guild are a social bunch of non-traditional board and card gamers who meet every Tuesday evening from around 7pm at The Adelphi in Preston.
Over 30 people attend each week. We play a range of games from smaller, lighter games such as Carcassonne, Ticket To Ride and Camel Up right up to the modern day heavyweights such as Terra Mystica, Food Chain Magnate and many more.
Between our members we have access to over 3,000 board games, meaning that there's a game for everyone in our library.
We all meet with the same goal - to play more games! We actively promote and tell all our members about the local clubs, groups and shops available to them as our groups aim is to get more people gaming. We've worked closely with local venues such as the Harris Museum to host opening gaming nights whilst also looking to raise money for charity through our passion for gaming! We've held three events so far, raising over £4,000 in total for two great charities Mind Mental Health and Rosemere Cancer Foundation. - Aaron
Aaron and the gang will be hosting their fourth Preston's Gamers Guild event on November 4, 2018, at the Royal Legion in Penwortham - so if you're in the area, make sure you head over their to support the club which in turn, will support some great charities whilst spreading the word about how great, addictive and challenging, board games are!
Now, Let's get to the table!
