March 31 is the NSPCC Big Board Game Day and Zatu Games are taking part in order to raise as much money as possible for the children's charity.
The big day is sponsored by Hasbro Gaming and will see people across the country coming together to play board games for a great cause, whether this is at home, at work or in schools nationwide.
About the NSPCC
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity in the UK and their aim is to end child abuse. Members of the charity work day and night to help not only protect those at risk of abuse, but to also help those who have already been affected to rebuild their lives.
The charity has several campaigns which have been created to raise awareness and to try and prevent abuse happening in the first place. One such example is the Speak Out Stay Safe campaign. This involves trained volunteers visiting primary schools to talk to children about abuse, so that they know exactly what it is and what they should do if they feel threatened.
There is also a 24-hour NSPCC helpline designed for adults to receive advice or share their concerns about a child who may be at risk. The number for this helpline is 0808 800 5000. A childline service is also available, with specially-trained counsellors on-hand to talk to children who may need help.
NSPCC Big Board Game Day
We'll be doing our part for the NSPCC Big Board Game Day here at Zatu! Our team will be dressing up as their favourite board game characters and taking part in a tournament created by the children's charity.
Throughout the day we will be posting photographs of our team playing three different board games:
- Cash 'N' Guns
- Codenames: Pictures
- Coup
Alongside the photographs we'll be streaming live via Facebook Live and Instagram, as well as posting live tweets and Facebook updates. We hope to have a live Twitch stream, which will include links to our Just Giving page - where you can make your donations.
We'll be providing prizes for the best dressed and for the winner of our tournament so it's not to be missed. An up-to-date schedule will be uploaded onto our blog next week so keep an eye out so that you know what is happening and when.
Through all of these fun activities we hope to raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC so that they can continue to protect vulnerable children and help transform lives across the county.
Just Giving
Out Just Giving page is already live and people have started to leave donations. We're aiming to raise £250 for the NSPCC but of course if we can beat this target then that would be amazing.
Help Zatu Games make a difference by donating today!
Thank You.
