The iconic duo of Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot returns in this sequel. After directing 2017's Wonder Woman film, Patty Jenkins quickly made a name for herself in the world of superheroes. Wonder Woman was the first film adaption of an all-female superhero story in the recent uproar in popularity of the franchise. Audiences were all introduced to Gal Godot's immortal Amazon warrior demigoddess and fell in love. A powerful and faithful portrayal of the character was so refreshing to see on the big screen. 2017's Wonder Woman is still regarded as one of DC's best cinematic adaptions which meant that everyone was waiting for a successor.
Released in the height of lockdown, Wonder Woman 1984 provided a ray of 80's joy to many. Gal Godot and Chris Pine returned for the sequel whilst Kirsten Wiig and Pedro Pascal joined the cast as two polar opposite antagonists.
