News: New Batman Board Game

Jumping jokers Robin, there’s a Batman themed board game that’s just been announced! That’s right, from the publisher Schmidt Spiele and the creative mind of Benjamin Schwer comes Chaos in Gotham City. A trick taking card game for 2-6 players.

In this game, players take on the role of Gotham's most infamous villains and set about causing as much chaos as they can make without rousing the attention of the one and only caped crusader.

Each of these action-packed games can last anywhere from 15-30 minutes During which players must win ticks by following sequences of cards with matching suits and ownership of Gotham locations. When all tricks have been played, the round ends and the batman points are tallied up. The player with the most batman points doesn’t gain any chao points, but all the other players do. To make things more interesting, each player also receives a villain card which contains a special power that they can use during a trick to turn the trick in their favor.

Choose the locations you want to win carefully to bag yourself the most chaos points at the end of the game, and you’ll become the most notorious villain in Gotham City.

Just looking at the reveal pictures, my favourite feature so far has to be the comic style art that features on all of the cards. They really capture the life behind each character and bring them to life. Not to mention the incredible map layout of Gotham City and all the features and buildings from the city that we know and love.

So, prepare your finest villain costume and get ready to play your way to victory when Chaos in Gotham City releases later this year.
