NEWS: Monster Hunter Expansion Announced

After the success of the initial base game kickstarter in 2021, Steamforged games have announced the next step in the adventure, with ‘Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game.

This newest installment will be a standalone game in the Monster Hunter series and, unlike the video game, will not be an expansion for the base game. That being said, it still promises an exciting adventure for 1-4 players, as they venture across the icy plains in search of monsters to hunt and gear to craft.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there, Steamforge games have already announced one of the first monsters you’ll encounter and the accompanying miniature that you’ll find in game; the Rajang. This monster is a formidable foe with ultra-aggressive temperaments, packing a punch with its powerful arms and changing colour when enraged.

But it turns out that monsters aren’t the only foe you’ll encounter, as turf wars mean you might be rudely interrupted by invaders while you’re battling your newest find. There’s never a dull moment, or sword, in Monster Hunter.

Unfortunately, that’s all the gameplay that Steamforged Games have teased at this point in time. However, they were kind enough to announce May 18th as the date that the Kickstarter campaign goes live.
