Ahead of this years EVO fighting game tournament Level 99 games announced that 2018's Guilty Gear Strive will be getting it's own board game adaptation.
Trading in the fast-paced round combat of its video game inspiration, Guilty Gear Strive: The Board Game will take a much slower, tactical approach to 1 v 1 combat.
Using the same gameplay mechanics as Level 99's already well established Exceed Fighting System, Guilty Gear Strive will allow players to choose from a 20-strong character roster, all with their own play style and unique move-set.
And if that doesn't provide enough variation, players can even mix in decks from previous Exceed-powered titles, such as BlazBlue and Under Night In-Birth!
Launching on Kickstarter in the near future, fans of the franchise will be able to pick up the base game for a $99 pledge (around £78) which is almost 25% cheaper than the game is expected to be at retail.
The base game alone features a mind-blowing 695 cards, as well as two silver coins and a neoprene playmat.
A Collectors Edition featuring upgraded components such as acrylic standees will be available for $179 (around £!40) and an 'all-in' bundle including the other Exceed Fighting System games mentioned previously will be priced at $499, for those who really want to splash the cash!
Level 99 Games are also giving away free demo decks on their website while supplies last, however the shipping to the UK is likely to be prohibitive for most.
