NEWS: Good Omens Card Game

If you haven’t already seen the fantastic series, Good Omens, here is another reason to do just that. Renegade Game Studios have announced at their virtual convention, that they are releasing a card game called ‘Good Omens: The Ineffable Game’. Details on the game are in short supply at the moment (I mean, it is Ineffable after all), but we do know that there will be three different versions. One for Amazon, one for Barnes & Noble and one for Hobby stories. Each version will have its own cosmetic differences, both on the box and the cards themselves, but as far as we know the game(s) inside will be the same.

We’ll keep you informed as more information is revealed. In the meantime I highly recommend checking out the series (available here) or picking up the book to familiarise yourself with the world. You won’t regret it.

'In truth, while the Aziraphale principally kept up the guise of a second-hand book dealer as an excuse to acquire and store his own unique collection, he did in fact enjoy playing the part on occasion. While he found most things confusing or worrisome, and very nearly fainted when he saw mention of Exploding Kittens, the occasional item did interest him and he considered adding them to his shop...at the very least it would keep those who wandered in well away from his books.

Then one day, when he was enjoying some tea and browsing for ideas, he came across a curious announcement. A card game by Renegade Game Studios entitled ‘Good Omens: An Ineffable Game’ with what looked like an angel and a demon on the cover…a very familiar angel and demon. While he wasn’t entirely happy with their rendition of himself, he had to admit they had got Crowley spot on. But who had made this curious item and why? It was some sort of…game…so he imagined humans would have fun with it. He thought perhaps Crowley might like to try it and he smiled, then frowned and shook his head. No, he hadn’t forgiven Crowley yet for that incident at London Zoo, he was still pulling feathers out of his hair.

Still, he thought he should at least acquire a copy. If it turned out to be any good perhaps he could sell some…he’d have to have a word with their art department about his portrait first though. There seemed to be three versions, and it looked like he’d be able to order the hobby store version, as he had no idea why an Amazon would want to play a card game, and he was sure he’d visited the island of Barnes & Noble sometime in the 1800s.

Sadly, there was very much else to go on for the time being, but it was being released in May of this year, so he promised himself he’d keep an eye. Then he went back to his tea, which he almost spilt across a stack of antique maps. He was mildly startled, but then shrugged. It would more than likely just make them look even older, and aesthetics were important. So he flicked some tea in their direction and went back to his reading.
