In the news this week; There is a Godzilla card game on the horizon, new partnerships are made, and the Dice Settlers world is expanding.
Partnerships
Horrible Games' titles are coming to the US and Canada thanks to a new partnership with Luna Games. The Italian publisher (Horrible Games) has games such as Potion Explosion, Dragon Castle and Railroad Ink and this partnership will see Luna Games distributing these games.
This partnership will be a big boost for both companies which will see more people being able to get their hands on these games, especially now CMON will no longer be distributing these titles.
Godzilla: The Card Game
A new expandable card game from Bandai has been announced. Godzilla: The Card Game is due to be released in September 2019. Various monsters such as Godzilla, Mothra, King, Ghidorah, Destoroyah, MechaGodzilla, Space Godzilla, Jet-Jaguar are all featured in the game trailer.
Godzilla is a two to four-player game featuring the Chrono Clash system which discards the traditional turn based play. Instead, all players share a power resource track where their tokens move up and down depending on the power of the cards played. Depending on the position of a player's token will determine their turn order.
The base game includes four pre-built decks of 50 cards for straight out of the box play and a communal 16-card pool.
Dungeon Mayhem
Dungeon Mayhem is a two to four-player 2018 card game that is set in the fantasy world of Dungeons and Dragons. The aim is to be the last player standing battling it out in a dungeon full of treasures with players being able to pick one of the classic D&D character types; barbarian, paladin, rogue or wizard.
Battle for Baldur's Gate is an expansion and adds two new playable characters, the ranger and a shape-shifting druid. The expansion is due to be released on the September 17 2019.
Snowdonia for Two Players
Snowdonia is a very popular train game from Tony Boydell. It has recently been on Kickstarter for a Master Deluxe Set and a two-player version is now also on the horizon. Foothills is designed by Tony Boydell and Ben Bateson, and published by Lookout Games.
There was a limited released at UKGE, with the international release planned for July/August. If the popularity of Snowdonia is anything to go on then I imagine Foothills is going to go down just as well and is one to keep an eye on.
