Hear Ye, Hear Ye………..Kingdomino is entering a new age; the Stone Age!
Hot on the heels of the 2021 Kennerspiel des Jahres nomination for Dragomino, Blue Orange Games has announced that Kingdomino Origins is being released on 16 September 2021!
Together with other upcoming titles, Bellum Magica, and Neoville, this latest release from Blue Orange Games is going to excite the dedicated fan base which has seen the franchise grow over the past 5 years.
Kingdomino Stone Age - What's New?
It appears that Bruno Cathala is transporting players back to the stone age where the fire is king! Teaming up with artist Cyril Bouquet again, players will be competing to control territories furnished with flames. Having inspected every tile of my own Kingdomino and Queendomino, I am expecting the distinctive artwork to include lots of prehistoric easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans like me to hunt out!
The popular territory-building gameplay and turn order sound reassuringly familiar, but there are plot twists coming in this latest chapter. Fellow devotees of Queendomino will welcome the additional components and actions. But, in a novel departure, according to BoardGameGeek, there will also be alternative play modes that increase in complexity:-
- The first one introduces fire and volcanoes;
- the second mode uses wooden resources;
- and the third one features cavemen tokens.
