With a new week I take a look at the games we may have missed or ones that have just launched on Kickstarter which are worth taking a look at. With big games launching almost every week it’s easy to miss smaller campaigns or even miss the bigger ones as you set your sites on the ‘holy grail’ you have been waiting for.
New To Kickstarter - Zombie Tsunami
The newest board game from the creators of Vikings Gone Wild, which is awesome!! This game is a party game for 2-6 players that takes around 30 minutes. You control a horde of zombies trying to storm into the city.
You can co-operate with the other players, only to stab them in the back later-on, which makes this a great game for those of you that like to betray your friends! The art work for this game is also brilliant, just as it was on the Vikings Gone Wild game.
You can check our Zombie Tsunami on Kickstarter right now!
Light Hunters Battalion of Darkness
This game was one that I noticed because of the art work. It reminded me of the Xbox game Limbo and when I checked the Kickstarter page out, the fact it plays between two and eight players in around 20 minutes really got me interested!
On game nights we often have 20 minutes or so left of the evening, where we struggle to get a game to play in that period of time. Light Hunters Battalion of Darkness is a card game where players work together in teams to defeat the others.
The art work and the player count/time really appeals to me and at only 19 Euros it's a game worth checking out!
Heroes of the Great War: Limanowa 1914
This is a game that I first noticed a few months back and I don’t understand why its first Kickstarter didn’t fund. To me the art and the look of the components are great. Being a war game for 1-4 players with the minis representing actual units of the time is a great idea.
Heroes of the Great War is set in the Eastern Front of World War I, focusing on the events near Krakow and the region of Galicia. You can take command of both fighting sides you can set traps using secret battlecards and lay sieges to fortified towns.
All in all, this game sounds great and I hope that it reaches its targets on Kickstarter so I can get a copy.
Aegis
I do not know how I nearly missed this Kickstarter as it has me written all over it. Great art that looks like it’s from a computer game and teams of robots drafted each time you play adding reply-ability means it’s a game that screams fun to me.
A game for 2-4 players and a quick playtime of 30 minutes, you basically have a team of robots and try to defeat opposing teams by using the different robots skills while moving around the map.
Aegis is already funded and I am looking forward to what else they have to unlock via stretch goals in the closing stages of the campaign.

Path of Light and Shadow
Path of Light and Shadow is said to be a ‘massive empire-building experience that plays in around an hour or so for 2-4 people. Deck management, area control and civilisation customisation are the main mechanics and this is the reason it appeals to me as mixed together it has the potential to be great.
The game has a huge number of cards, plastic player pieces and a large game board. Path of Light and Shadow looks to be very in-depth so I recommend checking out the KS page if you like what I have said so far.
As always, the above are just my choices and I am sure there are more games out there that deserve a place on this list. I will be doing the same again next week so please get in touch if you have any suggestions for next weeks list.
