This last month has proven to be very good for us gamers, with a huge amount of new Kickstarter projects to choose from. With limited funds and a large selection of projects to back it can be a difficult decision on what to pledge and what to skip.
You will see below, in our New To Kickstarter round-up, a list of board games that I think are worth looking at to see if they are your sort of game.
New To Kickstarter - Dead Man's Doubloons
With one of the strangest (in a good/funny way) videos I have seen grace a Kickstarter campaign, the colourful art and the pirate theme really got me interested in this game. Dead Man's Doubloons has been created by Javier Gonzalo Aguirre Bisi, for ThunderGryph Games.
In the game each player takes on the role of a unique pirate captain, along with their own ship and crew. Players will be required to gather treasure map fragments, avoiding rivals and navigating the oceans. Once the map is complete players head to Zotètmon Mountain to find the buried treasure, before heading back out to sea for one more battle.
Dead Man’s Doubloons has quality looking components and a game offering of 30-45 minutes for 2-6 (6th player is an unlocked stretch goal) players should suit most gaming groups and I recommended you check this out.
Galaxy of Trian: New Order
With this new edition of an already well liked game, Galaxy of Trian: New Order is a dynamic tile-based game in which players act as commanders of alien races. In the game, developed by Creative Maker LLC, players aim to take control of a powerful technology which was left behind by the Trian race.
With a huge number of components and refined gameplay this game is one I recommend checking out if you like tile placement and variable player powers in the games you play.
Hannibal & Hamilcar
Another updated version of a game that’s had a lot of love in the past check this out if you like two player war games. I would struggle to get this to the table as much as it deserved but for any gamers who play in a group of two then this is the game for you.
The 20th Anniversary Edition of Hannibal & Hamilcar is an asymmetrical card driven game designed for the two player market on Kickstarter now.
Take The Gold
I often look for games that me and my daughter can play together and it’s very hard to find a game that will keep me interested but also be easy enough for her to learn.Take the Gold, developed by CardLords, has art which combines pirates with cute animals so that appealed to both of us.

This is a lightweight card game where players must send their pirates to steal gold coins from other players, and call in officers to protect their own stash.
A game for 2-6 players that plays in under 20 minutes, its one me and my daughter would love to play.
There are still a large amount of good games I have not mentioned currently on Kickstarter and depending on your tastes you may or may not find a hidden gem that I have missed. Check the above games out and let me know your thoughts.
