News has come from the annuls of history! Osprey Games has announced the latest in their Imperium series. Going alongside Imperium: Legends and Imperium: Classics now comes Imperium: Horizons providing fourteen more civilisations for you to mix and match with the previous titles. Imperium is a deck and civilisation building series, including historical and mythological factions such as Romans, Carthaginians and Atlantians, and Horizons is set to add even more. These civilisations are hugely diverse, with the following known so far:
- Indigenous Caribbean and Floridan Taino
- Aksumite people of Northeast Africa and South Arabia
- Tang Dynasty
- Inuit
- Mayans
The game, Imperium Horizons, is expected to be much the same as the previous versions, with players using deck building mechanisms to draft to enhance their unique decks and building towards their own cultural advancements in science, culture and/or military.
A new trade module has been incorporated, giving players a chance to recreate intrigue, wealth generation and dynamic politics of a growing economy. A solo mode will also be included in the game for players to explore the fourteen new civilisations at their own pace. Imperium: Horizon is… well just over the horizon, with a summer 2023 launch date put forward.
