So the Star Wars Destiny train rattles on with two new starter sets, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett, - are they worth your time and money? Well, let's be honest if you are reading this you are probably going to by them anyway...
Boba Get
The new sets introduce a few new additions. Indirect damage is a new dice symbol, looking much like a thermal detonator. Early impressions are that it's a good way to deal a fair bit of damage, but the catch is that the player on the receiving end of that damage chooses how it's distributed. So a foe who is sly with their shield play can counter indirect damage to a degree.
Next up come plot cards. This new type of card is only mentioned in the new rules but doesn't actually appear in either starter set, meaning booster packs are the only way to obtain plot cards. This is the kind of shenanigans that gets collectable card games a bad name. Why not give us one of the plot cards in each starter? Don't tease us! Anyway plot cards are played near your character cards and give a starting bonus to a player. However they do cost some of your point limit so it's a tough choice.
Lastly some cards now have 'power' actions that can be used once a round. Which gives players a few more options. This is the same in terms of player actions as taking a card action.

So more of the same, with some differences. More options are nice, particularly the indirect damage as an option. But the thing I appreciated most was that both starter sets give you yellow characters and that the main character in both comes with two dice giving you more deck construction options. I don't play competitively, where I imagine the changes are felt more keenly, particularly the plot cards, but nothing felt overly powerful.
If like me you just want a few decks to bust out when your friends are over, you probably have enough between these and the two player starter set. Although to be safe you could always get the original starter sets too. Boosters would not be needed unless you are desperate for plot cards or cards not contained in the starter boxes.
Overall, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett are another nice but not necessarily needed couple of starter sets.
