IQ love is a multi-level logic puzzle from smart games. Small and compact, this brain teaser is a perfect travel-sized companion that you, your friends, and family will all end up pondering over.
What’s There To Love?
IQ love boasts a whopping 120 puzzles for you to problem solve through, gated into 5 brackets of difficulty ( Starter, Junior, Expert, Master, and finally the granddaddy of them all - Wizard). It makes the most of its sleek and compact design by giving you two playing boards - The heart and the rectangle. You’ll be using double-sided Polyabolo ( remember that word for the pub quiz) tiles instructed by starting configurations and working out where the rest of them fit! It starts simply; having to fit two or three of the ten pieces in the correct pattern but as the difficulty rises you’ll find yourself at wizard mode with only of those Polyabolos in place as you hmmph, and huff and make low, tonal noises reflecting the inner clogs of your brain trying to formulate the pattern.
Making Learning Accessible And Fun
Smart games mantra is learning through play, with I.Q love’s focus on cognitive skills like concentration, problem-solving, and logic. It makes it a handy tool for teachers and parents wanting to provide building blocks for children & young adults. These can be particularly helpful for those with learning difficulties that may need different stimuli in order to learn. Because of this, it means that even if logic puzzles are not your strong suit or something you particularly enjoy, it has a great tempo of difficulty to allow you to get into these types of games without making you want to throw it out the window. This game can be a great exercise to help with Executive function, it’ll help with processing speeds and cognitive flexibility, a fantastic skillset to allow you to see things in more than one way.
Minor Heartbreaks
For the most part, IQ love is a great little production, it’s durable and although not quite pocket-sized, this can easily be fitted into a bag to take on trips or long travels. The pieces are wonderfully coloured, see-through, and double-sided. My only gripe is that due to their nature of needing to be so malleable on the two different boards, the polyabolos don’t always fit snugly, meaning delicate procedure to you can find yourself manoeuvring every piece on the board which can come with some frustration. With Smart Games intent on this being a 7 and up game I think this is one to watch out for.
