Cephalofair Games has announced that Gloomhaven Second Edition will see a delay due to unexpected manufacturing issues. Fans who have been anticipating its release will have to wait a bit longer as the company works to resolve quality concerns found in early copies of the game.
Unforeseen Production Challenges
After receiving advance copies meant for internal review, Cephalofair identified serious production defects. Warped map boards, faulty scenario trackers, and poorly assembled miniatures were among the most pressing issues. These problems were not apparent in earlier pre-production samples, making their sudden appearance in mass production a major setback for the team.
Addressing the Problems
The manufacturer has acknowledged the defects and committed to making corrections. However, with factory workers currently on break due to the Lunar New Year holiday, the process of fixing these issues will take some time. Cephalofair is also investigating the underlying cause of the errors to ensure future production runs meet their quality standards.
“We know this delay is frustrating, but we’re committed to making sure the final product meets our expectations,” the company shared. “We are working closely with the production facility to resolve these problems efficiently.”
A Difficult Decision
Despite the disappointment, Cephalofair remains firm in their decision to delay the game rather than release a flawed product. “This was not an easy call to make, but we know it’s the right one for the integrity of Gloomhaven Second Edition,” they stated.
For now, fans will need to remain patient while the company works through these challenges. Stay tuned for updates as Cephalofair moves closer to delivering a polished and fully functional version of Gloomhaven Second Edition.
