I know, we are all still enjoying the summer warm weather and we are looking forward to the holidays. Nevertheless, I really love Christmas and is it never to early to start planning for it. I know I am not the only one and I am happy to share that Thames & Kosmos are bringing us one step closer to our favourite holidays by releasing a new Advent calendar of the EXIT series.
The story of EXIT 2022 Advent calendar seems to be quite interesting: Santa Claus’ golden book has disappeared! The Golden Book contains a complete list of all the Christmas wishes and, if the book isn’t found by Christmas Eve, there will be nothing but sad faces around the tree on Christmas morning.
Of course, we don't want this to happen, hence we start the “ The Hunt for the Golden Book” that leads us to a remote mountain village. To find the book, we will need to search behind each of the village doors.
The “Hunt for the Golden Book”, as previous EXIT Advent calendars, comes as a cardboard box divided in 24 small spaces. Each space is kept closed by a small cardboard door with a code on it. In this case, each one of these doors represent a different house in the village and you are tasked to open one door daily from the 1st of December until Christmas Eve. Behind the door you will find a puzzle, whose solution will help you moving onto the next house. Once all the clues collected and all puzzles solved you'll find the thief, get back the book and save Christmas!
I personally love the Exit calendars and I could not wait to play the newer one. First of all, they are good fun for the whole family as you team up all together to solve the daily riddle. The average difficulty of the game is usually set to intermediate but there is a very good mixture of easier and tougher riddles to challenge equally adults and younger players. The first riddles are also designed to help those that never played this type of games to understand the basics and the mechanics. Last but not least, there is book of hints that helps you solving each puzzle so that you never get really stuck.
