HOW TO PLAY
Evolution is a hand-management game, where cards are played for several actions in order to grow and evolve your species. The aim of the game is to have your species eat more food than the other players. To survive, your species will need to adapt. There are traits which can be found to help protect your species from predators and to help them reach for food. In total, there are 12,000 ways to evolve your species.
On each turn you will deal three cards, plus one for each species that a player has. You then select your food by playing one card down in the watering hole food for its food value. You can then play a card on a species for its trait ability, discard to gain a new species or discard to increase body size or population of a species by one. The watering hole cards are then revealed, and you add or subtract the food tokens shown on them. Players will then take turns to eat food or species if you're a carnivore. Reduce population of any species to match the food eaten by it. Then save all eaten food in bag for later scoring.
The game comes to an end one round after the deck of cards runs out. One point is given for each of the food collected in the player's bag, each surviving species and each trait card on a surviving species. The player with the most points is the winner.
