Legendary first-person shooter Doom has made its long-awaited return and it is available to order right now at Zatu Games! The latest version of Doom is available on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
History of Doom
The original Doom came into our lives way back in 1993! The series is considered to be the one of the very-best first-person shooters ever made.
The 1993 version of the game had three, nine-level episodes. Players took on the role of an unnamed space marine - otherwise known as 'Doomguy' and had to take the fight to the invading demons on Mars.
Alongside the single-player campaign, gamers were also able to play two different multiplayer mode over a network - Cooperative and Deathmatch.
Numerous expansions and follow-ups were released afterwards with the last edition, Doom 3, being released in 2004.
Doom Plot
The new game's plot is very similar to the original. Gamers arrive at the Union Aerospace Corporation's huge research facility on Mars. The main character is known simply as the Doom Marine.
It is suggested that the marine has been imprisoned due to being mentally unstable. You are dropped in the middle of a demonic invasion of the UAC Mars facility, and immediately set out to try to find the source of the invasion and stop it for good, with the reluctant assistance of UAC research chief Samuel Hayden.
The facility is full of fierce and powerful demons and as the last remaining Doom Marine it is up to you to save not only their world but ours as well! You have been activated for one reason – to kill the demons!
New Game Features
In Doom you will have an arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns and an advanced melee system to help you crush all of the demons! Notable guns include the Super Shotgun and BFG 9000.
The chainsaw also make a welcome return - just encase you wanted to cut your enemies in half. Original enemies from the original are present, including the Revenant, Mancubus and Cyberdemon.
A new feature includes the Glory Kills. This is a new melee execution system which shows when an enemy has enough damage for the gamer to use a melee takedown!
You can expand your gaming experience with the Doom SnapMap game editor. This allows you to create your very own maps, add pre-defined or some completely customised gameplay and edit the game logic to create new modes.
