Cyberpunk 2077 Board Game Funded In Just 10 Minutes!

ARKHAM HORROR

Okay Chooms, one question, are you ready for the big leagues? Go On Board certainly are. Hot on the heels of their Witcher tabletop offering, the publisher is pulling in the Eddies once more and we could see some crowdfunding records broken in the coming days!

Cyberpunk 2077 The Board Game is described by its designers as a story-driven, tactical action game and it’s definitely causing a stir. Hitting its funding goal within only 10 minutes and after less than 24 hours the project had hit an incredible $2M - wow.

The game will be available in a standard version using tokens or in a deluxe format with a plethora of gorgeous plastic minis for you to move around your table. As the stretch goals are smashed the content continues to swell with familiar characters from the franchise, new enemies and lots of upgrades being plugged into the game faster than a backstreet ripperdoc can augment your netrunner. The 13 scenario campaign now has a three part side mission featuring MaxTac and cyberpsychos that can be plugged into the main campaign or used in one shot missions through the Afterlife mission generator - the publisher has already teased that this is just the beginning with the stretch goal box already rivalling the base game in terms of size.
For those that watched the prototype copy play throughs when they were released into the wild, it is great to see that Go On Board have taken on some of the suggestions of reviewers regarding components, leaning into thematic narrative choices and introducing a way to adjust the difficulty settings of the game. Even more exciting, the game now caters for 1-4 players so you can venture out into Night City alone if you want to. With the improved depth of choice, and ability to slow down the action, there should be plenty of variety to keep us coming back for more.

The game is played against the clock in real time so it may not be for everyone - unless options are included throughout the campaign for the most strategic of thinkers to abandon the timer and focus on tactical efficiency. Time will tell. Speaking of which, it’s going to be a thrill to see how far Cyberpunk 2077 can go in the next 16 days and how many upgrades this exciting game is going to get before time runs out on the crowdfunding campaign.
