Coming Soon to Kickstarter: The Square Ring!

Pixar Dobble Image (7)

A new dueling game is coming soon to Kickstarter on March 29th in the form of the “The Square Ring”. A strict 2 player boxing game where the designers note "The Square Ring is a fast-paced asymmetric fighting game of positional awareness and tactical decisions." They also highlight that "Players will use their footwork, attacks, and defenses to win the judge's decision over three rounds OR hunt for the KO!"

Players have the choice of 8 fighters to pick from to take into the ring and the game is expected to only take 15-30 minutes. The boxers are all unique in their skill sets allowing for many different fights with all the possible combinations available.

There is a copy of the rules available on their website as well as the opportunity to test out the game through tabletop simulator. For a short game, it looks incredibly involved and plenty of action to go at.

It’s exciting because the Square Ring is the first project from this group and I love and applaud people who bring their creation to life. The team note in one of their blogs they have drawn a lot of inspiration from other fighting games, Street Fighter being noted as particularly inspiring. The characters have back stories which will add to the depth of tale they are looking to create.  I truly hope this is a successful one as I’ve not seen a boxing board game come to market before. Good luck team and if you want to find out more about the game, click here!
