Looking for games to play with friends? Bush's Board Game Thing sees Andy Bush celebrating board games and the experience of gaming with friends Jess Temby and Brian Murphy. Each week, expect passion, enthusiasm, and multiple trips through gaming wormholes. This podcast is powered by Zatu - we're making sure the board game cogs keep on turning. Each week, I'll be bringing you the best bits here on the blog and letting you shop the podcast!

Do you have something that you'd like to share with the team? Maybe a great board game idea? Even when and where you like to listen to the podcast, set the scene. Email [email protected] if you want to get involved with the podcast. For example, if you have any board game disputes, let Andy and co get to the bottom of it!

Episode 22 of Bush's Board Game Thing is all about games that require teamwork. Our dream team of Andy, Jess and Brian try to work out which one of them suffers from alpha-gamer syndrome. Join them as they attempt to solve a murder and keep a city free from crime. It’s a tough job, but it should go smoothly as long as they work together!

Forbidden Desert

No need to worry about getting sand stuck in between your toes with our first pick!

Forbidden Desert is a co-operative survival game. Players will need to put their heads together to decode cryptic clues. Work together to find safety and escape. If not, you could end up stranded in the desert, left at the mercy of the storm, the sun, or your own thirst.

Each player begins with a card with an arrow pointing at full water. As the game progresses the arrow goes down and you get thirstier! Once that arrow hits the bottom of any players' card, the game is over for everyone.

Grab your water bottles and feed your camels, the Forbidden Desert is waiting for you.

Mansions of Madness

Our next game is just as head-scratching as Forbidden Deserts, but twice as spooky.

Make sure no one in your team gets lost in Mansion of Madness! Each character has a unique skill set that will keep you safe in the mansion.

Just like the other games featured on this list, Mansions of Madness uses cards for detailed story narrative purposes. This is the perfect game for a group looking to fully immerse themselves in the mystery of the game, in this case, the mansion.

The frightening creatures of Mansions of Madness will haunt your dreams for weeks.

Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Arkham Horror: The Card Game put a spin on the board game equivalent. Based on the collective works of H.P Lovecraft, this is known to be one of the best-executed card games ever produced. This co-operative card game requires players to assemble their investigator allies and work off each other's strengths and weaknesses.

The perfect game for horror fans looking to be part of the mystery rather than watching it on a screen. A mixture of investigating and action cards, players must investigate disturbances of untold horrors and prepare to come face to face with said horrors.

As the Ancient Ones seek entry to our world, it's up to you to unravel arcane mysteries and conspiracies in this Lovecraftian horror.

Brian's Board Game Fact of the Week

Guess who's back? Brian's back!

This week, Brian carries on the mysterious theme of the show with his top 3 police facts.

Where do you think the word 'copper' comes from? After a few failed attempts at guessing from Andy and Jess, Brian reveals that the term to 'cop' something means to catch them.

So, when a police officer catches someone, he is 'copping' them.

For more fascinating facts about the fuzz make sure to tune into Bush's Board Game Thing!
