Bonk! Board Game Review

From the people who brought you KLASK comes another fun and frantic game perfect for parties and family gatherings. BONK! is a 2-4 player, dexterity game that brings pleasure to all who play!

Components

Marektoy have done it again and knocked it out the park with component quality. BONK! is a slightly curved, well-crafted, wooden board with four high-quality black plastic chutes that sit in each of the corners, housed within a drawstring cloth sack are your twelve steel balls, one slightly larger wooden ball and two pegs for scoring. All contained in a big shelf killer, sturdy cardboard box.

Gameplay

Whether you choose to BONK! with two or go all out for a four way, double team bonanza, the gameplay is the same!

Be”fore play” begins all participants ‘High Five’ each other and shout “BONK!” releasing everyone to grab their balls and launch them down the chutes. Their aim is to bonk the wooden ball into the opponent's goal. Some skill is required but as you get used to the game you pick up tricks and better ways to reach your climax of being the first to score six points.

Final Thoughts on Bonk!

This game is so easy to play and teach. There is a lot less skill required than KLASK. In BONK! it’s simply about scoring goals, and it’s a lot of fun in the process!

The two-player game is good with both of you having more steel balls to start with. This can mean that games may play longer but never more than five minutes in total. You can also work on perfecting some good trick shots, and hone skills in holding back before release, or saving goals at the last second.

The four-player game is enjoyable franticness turned all the way up to 11! It’s noisy, fun, balls flying everywhere, players desperately scrabbling to reload and shoot again. All before the elation of someone else hitting the Goal Spot and winning a point, if not the game! It’s an exciting commotion that draws others to come and see what’s happening!

And because each BONK! session plays through so quickly, and is as pleasurable to watch as it is to participate in, it makes this a brilliant addition to any party, group, or gathering.
