Halloween of 2020 is going to be one for the books, unlike the holiday we all know and love. With beloved scare mazes cancelled or scaled back, many of us will be looking for those scares elsewhere. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone might just have the answer with the brand new Haunting of Verdansk update.
Trick or Treat
Plunder and Battle Royale are both firm fan favourites within Warzone. We all know Verdansk by the back of our hands, from the bunker in the Park to the recently exposed Stadium. But will you be able to navigate these infamous streets at night? In Activision and Infinity Ward's first-ever Halloween experience inside of Warzone and Modern Warfare, fans will be in for a frightful few weeks complete with some familiar faces from the silver screen.
Running from the 20th of October until the 3rd of November, this limited-time event will combine the COD universe with that of both SAW and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The event also features a Trick or Treat reward system. Supply boxes will be rewarded during play, if you dare to open it you might find horrifying frights or customisable treats. These special boxes can be unlocked in normal play or in the brand-new night-time variant of Verdansk. Zombie Royale launches tonight which is an undead twist on the classic Battle Royale. The Gulag is out. Instead, dead Operators will return as undead foes with unnatural powers to hunt the remaining players down.
Do you Want to Play a Game?
Once your game finishes updating tonight, you will be able to get familiar with both Billy the Puppet and Leatherface.
As soon as the update goes live, you will be able to purchase in-game bundles based upon Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Both bundles featuring exclusive weapons and skins to add some horror to your Halloween. The 'Billy' skin for Operator Morte will see you transform into Jigsaw's iconic puppet Billy, ready to play some games with The Phlebotomozier Lethal Equipment piece, a special throwing knife. Whereas Operator Velikan will take on the likeness of Leatherface equipped with a chainsaw like LMG blueprint.
Other skins and Halloween exclusives will be available throughout this 2 week event. From weapon charms and vehicle decals to blueprints and skins, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are all set to terrify you this October.
