Board Game News Headline: UK Games Expo Hits A Landmark
The aftermath of the UKGE has settled and the organisers are revelling in their work. The numbers speak for themselves as the gaming convention saw the number of attendees hit an outstanding 16 383, an increase in 30% from last years convention.
This further emphasises the current boom in popularity of table top gaming in the UK which is fantastic for the industry. The UKGE is now the third largest gaming convention in the world, having had 320 game exhibitors and a total attendance of the three day event hitting 30,743 which is a great achievement for the UK.

DC Have Pulled It Out The Bag
Over the last few years the movie industry has become intoxicated with comic book adaptations, which has been dominated by Marvel. DC, however, have been less successful in recent times in trying to compete with Marvel's releases with their films doing very poorly at the box office and with critics.
But lets not forget DC's success with Warner Bros in Christopher Nolan's Batman adaptations that blew audiences away; especially with Heath Ledger as The Joker in the Dark Knight which grossed over one billion dollars worldwide.
2017 sees Marvel moving along with Phase Three and finishing off intertwining plots and story lines to one of the most anticipated movies of all time, Avengers: Infinity Wars.
DC responded by releasing their 'superpowers', the Justice League which is ready to hit the big screen later this year; but before that there is a small matter of Wonder Woman, DC's hope of bridging the audience to a new hope in their upcoming franchise of movies.
Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman is a beautiful origins story that is a fundamentally stunning transcendence showing an accurate depiction of the transformation of a naive warrior to an inspiring beacon of hope. The first female superhero to hit the big screen, DC had a lot riding on this movie being a success in the wake of poor reviews from previous films like Suicide Squad and Batman vs Superman - and wow DC did not disappoint this time around.

A New Spy-Themed Card Game Makes Board Game News
Hitting the board game news on the internet this week is the announcement that Richard Garfield, the man behind Magic: The Gathering and Netrunner, is teaming with Z-Man Games to bring a new spy-themed card game - Spynet.
The espionage-bluffing game is for two to four players and will have you working alone or in pairs to try and complete secret missions.
To complete their missions players will need to recruit the right agents from four stacks of cards; each pile can be picked up and looked at on a player’s turn, with the player choosing to take the current stack or put it back down and look at the next selection, which also means you will know what your rivals may pick up on subsequent turns.
Taking a stack means adding an extra card to the preceding piles, making them more attractive for other players. Once a player has recruited enough agents of a matching type they can then be sent out on their mission, deploying cards to outnumber opponents.
