News – A Second Course for Kitchen Rush

Sometimes, the second course is just better! The original Kitchen Rush game was released in 2017. It was a real-time, co-operative restaurant management game. You could say that it was the tabletop version of console-based game, Overcooked. It was launched to a relatively good reception, however there were a few bugs!

Fortunately, there is a revised edition on the way. Pegasus Spiele have taken the game on, cleaned up the plate and transformed it from a dog's dinner to fine dining.

Revised Edition - What We Know

The frantic gameplay of moving sand timers between stations remains. However, the artwork and components have been improved by being less cartoonish. It's not just the bits and pieces that have been improved either.

There are some new mechanics to enjoy. For example, having to service free (and costly) drinks to irate customers and demanding/VIP customers presenting a challenge. These customers can also lower your kitchen's reputation. New storage rules make keeping those proverbial plates literally spinning even more actually difficult.

An eight-episode starter campaign has also been introduced to allow players to experiment with all the different elements of the game. This means that the solo variant has been removed from Kitchen Rush. Don't panic though. Pegasus Spiele have hinted that this may be re-introduced in a future expansion.

The revised edition also features a modular board. This allows players to add new rooms to their restaurant as their games progress.

Kitchen Rush - Coming Soon

If you are hungry to get your hands on Kitchen Rush, there will be copies available at Essen. However, if you don’t want to go off half-baked an English language edition is planned for release before the end of the year.
