Tabletop Gaming Live 2019 had it all... From board games to role-playing games, tournaments to competitions, gamers to world famous wrestling superstars. It sounds mad, but it's true! The hottest releases sold like hot cakes, and gamers were able to pick up a quality bargain at the many vendors. Plus, the on-site available food was crazy good! You'd struggle to get a pie and a game as good that far south! But don't despair, you can breathe easy as your gravy filled pastry problems are solved! Tabletop Gaming Live will return in 2020 for another year on Saturday, September 26th and Sunday 27th 2020!
What's Tabletop Gaming Live?
If you aren't familiar with Tabletop Gaming Live, it's the convention hosted by Tabletop Gaming Magazine. It's also the UK's first opportunity to get a hold of the upcoming autumn/winter releases. This year gamers cheered when they found out Ravensburger had donned their villainous disguises and brought the two expansions to Villainous. Any followers of the game will have noticed it was a whole month ahead of release in the UK. On top of that they were willing to sell Jaws from their deep maws, earlier than standard release again! Oink Games also trotted among to display their board games, which many would classify as big games in small boxes! And that’s just to name a small few!
Tabletop Gaming Live can only get bigger following the success of 2019. The show is always host to a variety of vendors who will no doubt be advertising their wares. One can only assume the beautiful people of Zatu will be there selling the great value games they always do... but they'll also be demoing and showing off the hottest games at the time! And with a year to go, who knows what that will be!
So, whether you're buying or browsing, it's always worth saying hello and having a cheeky game or two! In the past I’ve found developers get really passionate about their games - it’s their baby! But they also love to hear the average Joe’s feedback, which is lovely and gives you a slice of what their games about!
The biggest thing for me, personally, is being able to meet the creators of the wonderful games we love. Whether it's getting to know the established developers or chatting with the indie developers with Kickstarters in the line, it's worth saying hello! Some of the games at Tabletop Gaming Live 2019 were astonishing and very innovative... and who knows what the 2020 bunch will have in store!
Keep an eye on the magazine for updates, and here on Zatu for news as it arrives! We'll hopefully see you there next year!
