Warhammer Bulletin – 30k Reinforcements

WARHAMMER
WARHAMMER

Welcome to another Warhammer Bulletin, taking a look each week at what’s gone up for pre-order in the Warhammer universe. This week there are reinforcements in the 30k timeline, with both Horus Heresy mechanicus and Legions Imperialis getting some new units for you to get your hands on. So let’s take a look and see what ‘old’ technology we can grab.

Horus Heresy: Mechanicus

Mechanicum Battle Group

For those of mechanical inclinations seeking to purge the weakness of flesh, you can’t go wrong with this box. It contains a whopping 29 brand new plastic miniatures. A great way to start with the newest faction in Horus Heresy.

The box includes 20 Adsecularis Tech-thralls (had to check my spelling on that one several times), 1 Triaros Conveyor, 6 Thallax heavy cyborgs, plus 2 Castellax Battle-automata, as well as transfer sheets.

Knights Battle Group: Castigator and Acheron

There is always something impressive about knights, no matter the size, and these two leggy lads don’t disappoint. The Cerastus-class Knight has two loadouts, the Castigator which is armed with a heavy-duty bolt cannon and a tempest warblade, and the Acheron which comes with a flamestorm cannon and a reaper chainfist. The box also contains transfer sheets.

Legion Imperialis

The Devastation of Tallarn

The latest instalment of Legion Imperialis takes place on Tallarn. Diving into the Iron Warrior’s campaign on the plant, which took it from a luscious agri world into a war-torn wasteland. The box also features new campaigns, battle honours, veteran detachments, formations of legend, and new formations and detachments for the Legiones Astartes and Solar Auxilia. It will be available in hardback and ePub formats.

The Devastation of Tallarn Cards

To go along with your book you can get this set of 24 rules reference cards covering the new detachments and formats in the book. It also includes 3 Legiones Astartes Vehicle Commander Cards which cover the command profiles and their special rules.

Shadowswords, Stormblades, and Stormswords

While I have a personal fondness for the classic Baneblade, these variations are undeniably very cool, and guaranteed to dominate the battlefield. If you get yourself a collection of each of these, then you have a mega-gun for all occasions, as well as lascannons and heavy bolters for close assaults.

This box contains 2 tanks from any of these variations and comes with transfer sheets.

Leman Russ Executioner and Demolisher Squadron

No, they’re not Baneblade variants, but that doesn’t mean we should judge them harshly, the Leman Russ is an absolute legend. The workhorse of the Solar Auxilia (and lastly easily to be used by the Imperial Guard in 40k), it can take on all comers.

This box contains 8 tanks which can be assembled as either Executioners or Demolishers, and also contains transfers.

Sicaran Arcus and Punisher Squadron

The Sicaran tanks are more flexible than most tanks, and therefore an excellent choice for any army. They come in either Arcus or Punisher configuration, the former armed with a missile launcher while the latter has a rapid-firing rotary cannon.

This box contains 4 Sicaran tanks plus transfer sheets.

Old World

Made to Order

There are a couple of model sets available Made to Order direct from GW this week. Always fun to bust out the metal miniatures once in a while.

● Prince Ulther’s Dragon Company Warriors

● Prince Ulther’s Dragon Company Command

White Dwarf

White Dwarf issue 503

It’s the turn of the Leagues of Votann this week in White Dwarf, so if any of you are fans (me!) either pre-order, subscribe, or keep an eye out in your local newsagents. The premier Warhammer magazine will be covering their history, technology and also include full Crusade rules for them. Aside from 40k there are the Astral Templars Stormhost in AoS, plus a massive 10,00-point Tale of Four Warlords battle.
