Hall of Heroes is an expansion to the popular phenomenon, Raiders of the North Sea. Raiders… is one third of the ‘North Sea’ trilogy by Shem Phillips and Garphill Games. Each of the North Sea games feature vikings with artwork by Mihajlo Dimitrievski.

Raiders’ main mechanism is worker placement. The theme – which you might have guessed from the title! – sees you looking to raid unsuspecting settlements. Who will earn the most glory (ahem, points) and impress the Chieftain?

According to myths, legends and Hollywood, what do vikings love the most? That’s right, mead. In Raiders of the North Sea: Hall of Heroes, a mead hall enters the board, and with it, brings a new host of adventurers into play. Plus, mead itself acts as an extra resource. It’s like a form of ‘Dutch courage’, helping your vikings in battle! The perils of each raid you attempt remain, even if vikings value a bloody, glorious death. Some raids might appeal due to the nature of the ‘quest’ they provide, even if they are dangerous. But when vikings get loaded up to the eyeballs with mead, the mood is one of further optimism!

Hall of Heroes provides an extension that sits at the bottom of the main board – the mead hall, itself. New townsfolk cards sit here in a public tableau, available to join your crew. Also included are individual player boards, which represent your longboat, of sorts. You sit accomplished quests above these, in a kind of set collection manner.

Finally, there’s also components inside for a fifth player to join in the raiding! For purposes of player scaling, there’s also a few extra components to ensure nothing runs out – especially the mead! Raise your horns, and your axes, and let’s get raiding! Please note: to enjoy Hall of Heroes, you’ll also need a copy of Raiders of the North Sea.

Player Count: 2-5 Players
Time: 60-80 minutes
Age: 12+
